Anthony Jason “AJ” Peterson, 57, of Farmington passed away in the loving presence of his family on Wednesday, June 29, 2022. AJ was born on Friday, February 26, 1965, in Bonne Terre, to Howard “Crockey” and Mary Kathryn Peterson. He was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church in Farmington, where in his younger years he enjoyed playing the drums for the Contemporary service.
AJ was a 1983 graduate of North County High School. He spent his early working life at the family Pepsi business in Flat River. AJ formed a rock band and moved to California where he met his wife, Sherrie. They moved to Farmington where they owned and operated Coast to Coast Sounds. He later became the Vice President of Flat River Building Center.
He is survived by his parents, Kathryn and Crockey Peterson; brother, Chip (Debbie) Peterson; sister, Beth (Paul) DeStefano and daughters, Jocelyn and Rachel Peterson; nieces and nephews, Harry and Parks Peterson, Katelyn Wiles, Brian Holme and Kristen Puschus and former wife of 19 years, Sherrie Cooper.
AJ loved to laugh and play practical jokes on family and friends. The Andy Griffith Show, Three Stooges and Two and A Half Men were three of his favorite TV shows. He loved rock music, especially Kiss and Van Halen and he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his beautiful daughters. AJ will be…always loved…forever missed and never forgotten.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home-Taylor Chapel in Farmington from 2:00 PM until the Celebration of Life Service at 4:00 PM with Rev. Ron Beaton officiating. Burial to follow at Saint Francois Memorial Park in Bonne Terre. In lieu of flowers, it would be greatly appreciated if donations could be made to Serenity Hospice, Farmington Pet Adoption Agency or to the Farmington Family Senior Center.

May AJ Rest In Peace and love. He is surely with you all. May you all find peace and comfort in the wonderful memories all of you must share.
I am Danny "Cookie"'s sister. I didn't know A J but I know my brother loved him very very much and tried to help him. He's spoken to me of A J often through the years and he's been heartsick about it. I will bring my brother to the funeral. God BLESS all the family and thank you for loving my brother, just as he loved your son, nephew, cousin, brother..
Randy and I are so sorry for your loss. May the Family find Peace in Gods Grace. RIP AJ
Dear Kathryn & Crockey,
Wow where to start? I have so many fun memories of AJ when we were young kids!! We all loved AJ! We loved having him over to the house! Mom(Bonnie), Margi and I are sending you love & prayers. Sorry that we cannot be there with you to celebrate his life.
Love,
Vicki
Dear Kathryn, Crockey, Beth and Chip, I have so many fun memories of AJ as a child growing up since I spent so much time in your home! From tutoring him in math to his “annoying intrusions” on our sleepovers when we were so much more mature pre-teens. He always made us laugh! My favorite was a more recent memory at Beth and Paul’s wedding. He was as handsome as ever and toasted his big sister in a sweet and loving manner. He was a joy and I know you will all miss him but he lives on in our stories and our hearts. My prayers are with you all, wish I could be there in person. I have such peace knowing that AJ is whole and sitting at the feet of Jesus, probably making him laugh! Love to you all! Kathi
