Mrs. Anna E. 'Gibson' Detring passed away Sunday evening, October 9, 2011, at the Baisch Nursing Center, in DeSoto, MO., at the age of 87 years and 21 days. Anna was born Sept. 18, 1924, in Elvins & was the daughter of Jewell Gibson & Elsie 'Montgomery' Gibson. Also preceding-in-death were: her husband, Edgar Anthony Detring (2007); a sister, Ruby Matthews; a brother, Alvin Gibson & a granddaughter, Donna Wilkerson.
Anna was retired from Farmington Community Hospital and a member of Farmington Christian Church - Disciples of Christ.
Survivors Include: 3 Daughters - Kathyrn Swim, of High Ridge, MO; Aldean 'Mrs. Don' Wilkerson, of Festus, MO & Marie 'Mrs. Ken' Gross, of DeSoto, MO. 2 Sons - Eugene (& Wanda) Horton, of Fenton, MO & Marvin (& Betty) Horton, of Desloge, MO. 2 Step-sons: Larry (& Debbie) Detring, of Cleveland, TN & Ron Detring, of Bentonville, AR. 1 Sister, Joyce Merkle, of Lebanon, MO. 2 Brothers: Lanny (& June) Gibson, of Lansing, MI & David Gibson, of St. Louis. Also surviving are: 10 Grandchildren; Several Great-Grandchildren; Several Great, Great-Grandchildren; 4 Step-Grandchildren & 4 Step, Great-Grandchildren.
Visitation : Tuesday, 4:30 - 8:00 p.m. Visitation resumes, Wednesday @ 6:30 a.m.
Funeral : Wednesday, 11:30 a.m., October 12, 2011,
at : TAYLOR Funeral Service CHAPEL, with Rev. Dale Berck officiating.
Interment : Hillview Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Farmington

Am I sorry for your loss. I worked with Ann at Parkland (Farmington Community Hospital) for many years. Ann was always happy and pleasant to be around. I remember when she retired or moved then came back to work again for a while. I was happy to see her again. God Bless.
