Mrs. Bessie Lorine 'Farmer' Koen passed away Tuesday at her Farmington residence at the age of 83 years, 10 months & 4 days. Bessie was born on June 9, 1926, in Dent County, Missouri. She was preceded-in-death by her parents: Fred Farmer and Viola 'Sellers' Farmer; two husbands, Edward Betke and Willard Koen. 4 Sisters; Ida Farmer, at birth; Emma Gregory; Ersa White & Fronia Miner. 5 Brothers: Firman Farmer; Haskell Farmer; Lloyd Farmer; Edgar Farmer & Urbon Farmer. Also, 3 Grandchildren: David Abney; Mindy Betke & baby James Betke.
Bessie was a retired Cook for Farmington State Hospital.
Survivors Include: 2 Daughters: Brenda (& Wendell) Byrd, of Bonne Terre; Sharon (& Walter) Duncan, of Alabama; James (& Dorothy) Betke, of Alabama; William (& Jerry) Betke, of Gasconade, MO. Also Surviving Are: 8 Grandchildren; 15 Great-Grandchildren; many Nieces; Nephews; a Special Friend, Floyd Hager and many other friends.
Visitation Starts : Friday, @ 10:00 a.m.
Funeral : Friday, 1:00 p.m., April 16, 2010,
at : TAYLOR Funeral Service CHAPEL, with Rev. John Kee officiating.
Graveside Service : Friday, 3:00 p.m., April 16th
at : Hillview Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Farmington.
So sorry to hear about the passing of Bessie. She worked with my mom for years at the State Hospital. I can remember going out there and seeing Bessie and all those ladies when I was little. You all are in my prayers, God Bless. Velma Ross's daugther, Judy
