  7. I heartbroken!  I do not have a childhood memory that doesn’t include Carla.   We spent many weekends dressing up in Grandma Gloria’s square dancing skirts & dancing all over their house.   In 7th grade, when she broke her leg, I carried both our saxophones & backpacks up 3 flights of stairs while she hobbled up all of those stairs on her crutches.   We traveled all over with the swim team.  Many slumber parties were spent prank calling boys & making her sing!  We served on many boards together and had LOTS of great times but I will always be forever grateful to her.   She is the reason I have my baby girl.  She introduced me to her bio mom and helped us throughout the adoption process.   We were not as close later in life but we did catch up regularly & it was as if we never missed a beat.  There is a hole in my heart & the world was a much better place with her in it.   Sending all my love to her wonderful family (who was like my 2nd family for many years).

  8. Carla was always putting a smile on everyone face! If you were having a bad day and she was around, you will always be in a better mood!
Praying for the family and especially Nash and Hattie. God bless for comfort!

  9. I met Carla through my boyfriend’s brother Justin & she was such a bright light! Carla you will be missed by many & prayers to your family especially your 2 babies. RIP Carla 💙

  10. I truly believe that God sends us down angels to walk among us. To show us how to treat each other. Carla was one of them. She enriched everyone she met. Now she watches over us as she walks with God.
    We will miss you.

  11. I am still in shock that our wonderful Carla has passed, and I can't even imagine how devastated all of you are.  My dear, sweet Mary, I know that you and Carla were extraordinarily close, just like sisters.  Nash and Hattie, I know that your Mother loved you SO much and was SO very proud of you.  Prayers to you and to all of Carla's family and friends.  I always admired Carla's work with abused women and children; and, more recently, her leadership of the Parkland Hospital Foundation.  Carla's passionate heart led her to be such a hard worker and charitable supporter of all who needed help.  And I will never forget her miraculous recovery from cancer–she was beautiful inside and out.  I hope that you can feel the love, hugs, and prayers that I am sending.  And I pray that the good Lord will give you strength, comfort and peace during this extremely difficult time.  Love and Blessings to a wonderful family.

  12. Carla was such a beautiful young lady and left this world way too soon. I always enjoyed seeing and talking with her at one of our families most enjoyed place,  Champion Springs.  She touched so many lives and always had a smile on her beautiful face. May she Rest In Peace. She will be missed but never forgotten.

  13. Carla will be so greatly missed. I had the pleasure of meeting her in a bad time in her life during her cancer, only to watch her flourish into such a vibrant young woman!! She was always such a good friend to me and quick to jump in when i was struggling with single parenthood. She was always positive and always making me laugh. She’d send me the funniest tects or most encouraging little notes out of the blue just to tell me she was thinking of me. She never met a stranger and was friends with everyone!  She made me always feel like i had someone to have my back if i ever needed it. I loved our little chats and our shared humor. She loved her children with all of her heart and they were the light of her life!  I was so blessed to meet Hattie and Nash and watch them grow!  Her face would light up every single time she talked about them. She was a gift to so many and she will be remembered by all of us.

  14. Mary and family: My deepest condolences. I never had the pleasure of meeting or knowing Carla, but her smile will ever be etched in my memory from the beautiful pictures saw of her and her family on Facebook. Prayers and God will comfort you all.

  15. I have sat here trying to put my thoughts into words and its so hard. I am so sad for the kids, their mother taken way too young. And Sunday was Mother's Day, I thought about those kids all day long losing their mom right before. I hate this for them but I know they have the best support system ever. Carla had such a way of words- I loved reading her FB posts. She was such an inspiration. I know she's in a better place but darn it hurts. I just want you to know I'm thinking of you all in this time of sadness.

  16. Mary,
I am so sorry for your loss. Carla was such a joy to know and work with. She will be missed beyond measure. My sympathies to you and the family.

  17. I was a long time neighbor & friend of Carla’s. I found out last night that she passed away. I’m extremely sad. She was such a wonderful & beautiful person inside & out. My heart goes out to her children & family. May God Wrap His Loving Arms Around You All During Your Time Of Sorrow. Will miss you deeply.

  18. I would not go back and change my childhood for all the money in the world!!!! Carla Crocker and I were the best of friends back in the day! I'm so sad that we lost contact with each other around the time I started dating Jeff and her grandparents moved 🙁 We spent every weekend having sleep overs and spending every minute together we could!!!! Her grandma would fix the best meals. A few of our favorite past times would be roasting hot dogs in the fireplace, going on camping trips or dressing up because she had so many dress up clothes and she always let me wear her pink ballerina outfit!!! That just goes to show you how kind she was from the very start!!!! I could never ask for a better childhood friend than her!!!! I'm was happy when Facebook came along and I found her again!!!! Just wish life would of not been so busy that we couldn't spend more time together as adults but one thing is for sure!!!! I will never forget my friend Carla Bailey!!!! Forever in my heart ❤ Love and miss you much and keeping your kids, parents, grandparents and friends in my prayers🙏

  19. Carla will be missed so much by so many. I can still remember the night we met, my aunt introduced us and we immediately hit off and exchanged our numbers. We talked every single day for hours…once in the morning…lunch… and evening. Carla was more to me than just a best friend, she saved me. I believe God delivered her to me. I was in such a dark place when we met and she made sure I made it through and make it through as a better man. I thank God every single day for carefully selecting her to be such a huge part of my life. We sure had some crazy wild times, I can remember washing her car and I said “WHY IS THERE A GOLFBALL IN YOUR GRILL” she walks around with a smile on her face and says “I don’t know, let’s just leave it there”. The are endless shenanigans by Carla and Austin. Leaving the Hulsey Christmas Party one year, I said “let’s park the car and have a photo shoot of me” of course she puts the car in park and takes a million pictures of me! These are just a couple stories that explain our relationship perfectly. It was so serious, but at the same time, so fun. Just as she was with me she was just the same for so many others. It’s incredible how many lives Carla touched and changed. I will always hold a special place in my heart for Carla. I’m sending all my love to all of you and continued prayers for strength and guidance. Love you all.

    Austin
