Christa Jan Yount

January 28, 1987 ~ October 29, 2022

          Christa Jan Yount, 35, of Caledonia, passed away October 29, 2022.  She was born January 28, 1987, in Farmington, to Steve and Connie (Lawson) Yount.  Christa Jan was a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Belgrade. She was a 2005 graduate of Valley R-6 and was determined to dedicate her life to helping others.  First, she graduated from Meramec College in 2010 with a PTA degree and then continued her education at Mineral Area College, where she received her RN degree in 2020.  Christa Jan loved her golden doodle, Zoe and spending time with her niece and nephew.  In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping and spending time with her friends and especially her best friend, mother Connie.

          She was preceded in death by her father, Steve Yount; grandparents, Curtis and Annabelle Lawson, John and Myra Yount; and special cousin, Van Yount.

          Christa Jan is survived by her mother, Connie Yount; brother, Kyle Yount and wife Anna; sister, Caley Cooper and husband Bo; nephew, Alex and niece, Kourtney; aunts, Debbie Lawson, Linda (Mike) Hulsey, Kathy (Tom) Kernan; and her fur baby, Zoe.

          Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Friday, November 4, 2022, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.  The visitation will resume at 9:00 AM, Saturday, November 5, 2022, until the time of service at 11:00 AM.  Brother Tom McCanless,  will be officiating.  Interment will follow at Leadwood Cemetery.

  1. Christa was an amazing young woman. She was one of my students and became an amazing nurse. Everyone she came in contact with is better for having known her. My deepest condolences to her family and friends. She will be missed.

  2. Christa was the true definition of a Christian, a caring nurse & a wonderful friend. I am still in shock. All I can think is that God needs her more in Heaven now. But, I greatly miss her. May God comfort all of her family & friends during this time of grief.

Christa was a special person that I hold in my heart sometime people come in are life for many to uplift us in many way and she did she had a smile and out look like nobody I ever meet her smile could melt the heart and a personality that was on of a kind heaven got a one of a kind she has touched some many people in many way .Sending love and prayers to all family and friends will be missed

  6. I remember meeting Christa for the first time when she was on her float shift on my floor at Mercy Jeff. She was one of those people who touched everyone she met. I still have a little note from her thanking me for helping her. Thank you Christa for just being you. Until we meet again.

You are one of the reasons I decided to go to RN school, when I was a medical assistant at your Dr. Office you told me I was the best nurse youve ever had, you were in shock when I told you I wasnt a nurse. Then getting to go through RN school with you was such a blessing. We bonded over our love for our fur babies and you truly are the sweetest person I have ever met. Your soul was too good for this earth, I have no doubt that those beautiful dimples are shining as you are leaping into the arms of Jesus! Give Cheddar a big squeeze for me! Love ya girl!!
