Mr. Clarence "CD" Benton passed away Friday morning, March 12, 2004, at his Farmington residence at the age of 90 years, 2 months & 28 days. Clarence was born on December 14, 1913, in St. Louis, MO., to Clarence E. Benton & Lyda 'Roseman' Benton Welch. Clarence was: * a member of the Farmington Christian Church Disciples of Christ; * he was Past-President of the Farmington Rotary Club; * Clarence moved to Farmington in 1932, with his parents & owned & operated the Sanders Truck Line until his retirement; * Clarence & Mildred were married for 69 years; SURVIVORS INCLUDE: His WIFE:, Mildred L. 'Ebrecht' Benton, of Farmington; DAUGHTER: Priscilla 'Mrs. Larry' Kropp, of Farmington; 2 SONS: LeRoy (& Frances) Benton, of Fulton, MO; Clarence A. (& Kathy) Benton, of Northville, Michigan; 7 GRANDCHILDREN; 8 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN. Also, several Nieces; Nephews, other Relatives & Friends. Visitation Sunday, 2-5 pm. Visitation resumes Monday morning at 7:00 a.m., & funeral Monday morning, 11:00 a.m., at TAYLOR Funeral Service CHAPEL, with Dr. David Webster officiating. Interment follows at St. Francois Memorial Park Cemetery in rural Bonne Terre, Missouri. Memorials to: Farmington Christian Church.

Clarence was a wonderful friend to my father and my parents loved spending time with Mildred and Clarence as winter Texans for 19 years. everytime I spoke to my parents when they were in the Valley, they spoke of their time with Mildred and Clarence with great joy and friendship.
