David Clemons

December 11, 1953 ~ August 6, 2021

David Langley Clemons, 67, of Bonne Terre, passed away surrounded by his loving family at his residence on August 6, 2021. He was born December 11, 1953 in Bonne Terre to Langley and Shirley (Howell) Clemons. He was preceded in death by his father, Langley Clemons; his father and mother-in-law, Jack and Elnora (Inman) Leftridge.  

Dave was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church.   Even though he resided in Bonne Terre his love for his hometown of  Elvins never wavered, he was a graduate from Central High in 1972, Mineral Area College 1974, and Mizzou of 1976.  After graduating he primarily worked in finance, most of his career was spent with The Doe Run Company and The Dover Company. He was currently working as the CFO for Pac Die, based out of Vancouver, Washington.  He could be regularly seen at football, basketball, volleyball, and baseball games, track and wrestling meets, choir and band concerts, dance recitals and plays. He was always smiling and proud to be supporting his family. Dave started every day reading The Upper Room devotional and would refer back to it throughout the day. He also read the sports page from four different newspapers daily. He really enjoyed high school sports and following students throughout their careers. 

Dave was survived by his wife, Jill (Leftridge) Clemons; four daughters, Jennifer (Clemons) Truman and her husband Marcus, Annie (Clemons) McIntyre and her husband Justin, Jenifer (Wilkinson) Ferguson and her husband Chris, and Julie Wilkinson; eleven grandchildren, Jacob Sutton, Caleb, Colton and Cayden Truman, Madeline and Andrew Civey, Claire and Connor Ferguson, Brody and Adley McIntyre, Wren Wilkinson; mother, Shirley (Howell) Clemons; brother, Craig Clemons and wife Kim, brother-in-law, Jack (Diane) Leftridge, two nieces, Brandi (Sean) Rieke, Halie (Trevor) French; two nephews, Ben (Amanda) Leftridge, Brian (Sydney) Leftridge.

Visitation will be Monday August 9, 2021 from 4 pm to 8 pm at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge. Visitation will resume at 9 am on Tuesday until time of the funeral service at 11 am at the C.Z. Boyer Chapel in Desloge with Rev. David Wiant officiating. Interment will follow at Bonne Terre Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Juvenile Diabetes Association www.jdrf.org or the Feed My Sheep fund. Mask or facial coverings will be required during the visitation and funeral.

  3. Dave was one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. I enjoyed having the opportunity to work with him at OPW. He always made me laugh when he would greet me with "Have we met".
