Donna K. Black, 75, of Bonne Terre passed away surround by her family Monday, January 30, 2023, at her residence. She was born Saturday, November 29, 1947, in De Soto to the late Dwight and Mable (Hall) DeGonia. Donna was a proud member of the Second Baptist Church in East Bonne Terre; was also member of the Eagles Auxiliary. Donna fought hard against drugs in our community, working alongside the Sheriff’s Department. Donna enjoyed volunteering at the women’s shelter.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Darren DeGonia; sister, Diana Woodruff.
Donna is survived by her loving husband Gary Black; children, Angela Larkin and husband Bryan, Gary W. Black, Jr. wife Dawnette; three grandchildren, Ryah Jade Black, Paris and Raven Larkin; siblings, Linda Jackson and husband Richard, Denise Whitener and husband Rex, Cherie DeGonia, Chrissy DeGonia, Stanley DeGonia, Danny DeGonia wife Paulette, Randy DeGonia and Jimmy DeGonia. Donna will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 3, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will resume Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 9:00 AM until funeral service time of 11:00 AM at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home Chapel in Bonne Terre with Pastor Greg McCord officiating. Interment will follow at Adams Hillcrest Cemetery. Memorials may be made to SEMO Family Violence Council. Gary, I am so sorry to hear about Donna. She was such a nice person. I'm sure she will be missed by everyone who knew her and loved her.
Although our paths didn't cross very often, I just loved Donna Black! She was always happy, had the biggest heart, loved life to the fullest, had a positive personality that was contagious, and was so kind and giving. The world has lost a wonderful lady who was uplifting and loving to all! Please know I am keeping all of you on my heart and in my prayers for strength during this difficult time. I hope you can feel the love that I am sending all of you.
