Ellison Abney, Jr.

     Ellison Louis Abney, Jr., age 77, of Bonne Terre, passed away Friday, April 2, 2021, at St. Joe Manor in Bonne Terre.  He was born on Wednesday, October 6, 1943, in Huzzah, Missouri.  Ellison owned and operated Abney Concrete Finishing for over 40 years.  He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and Fraternal Order of Eagles in both Bonne Terre and Ste. Genevieve. Ellison enjoyed going to car auctions, hunting, fishing, but most of all he loved his family dearly. 

     He was preceded in death by his father; Ellison Louis and Iva Louise (Frazier) Abney Sr.; sister, Bertha “Bert” Faries and husband Don; nephews, Michael Barr and Robbie Payne.

     He is survived by his loving children, Mark Abney, Kimberly Rowden and husband Billy; grandson, Chase Abney; siblings, Robert Abney, Delores Welker and husband Gary; cousins, Devound Abney and Kenneth Abney, along with several beloved nieces and nephews.

     Visitation will be Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre from 9:00 AM until service time of 11:00 AM with Rev. Dave Wiant officiating.  Graveside service will be held 2:00 PM at Lower Indian Creek Cemetery in Washington County, Missouri.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Alzheimer’s Association.  Arrangements are under the direction of C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home – Boyer Chapel in Bonne Terre.
