Frank “Hoot” Edward Thornton Jr., 82, of Bonne Terre, passed away April 14, 2023 at his residence. He was born December 11, 1940 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Frank Edward and Marcella Henrietta (Johler) Thornton Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Janet Karen (Sanders) Thornton; as well as two siblings, Sandra Dallas and Patrick Joseph Thornton.
Frank was a great gardener. He loved his dogs and enjoyed playing on his tractor in his spare time.
Frank is survived by two children, Tracy Thornton (Kim) and Stephanie Haynes (Mickey); grandchildren, Jenna Aga (Hysen), Zachary Haynes (Abby), and Haley Jo Thornton; two great-granddaughters, Lilith and Vera Aga; siblings, Marlene Womack, Faith Porter, Barbara Richardson (Ernie), and William Michael “Pollock” Thornton (Sue). Many nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
Visitation will be held Saturday, April 29, 2023, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre. Memorials may be made to The Parkinson’s Foundation.
