Gladys Ann Ferrell

Gladys Ann Province Ferrell, age 75, of Park Hills, passed away Friday, March 24, 2023, at Camelot Skilled Nursing Facility.  She was born on Sunday, October 19, 1947, in Machens to the late Charles R. Province and Leota B. (Fitzgerald) Province.  She was also preceded in death by one brother, Nallie “Wendel” Fitzgerald; two sisters, Shirley Province Brotherton and Helen Province Nicholson; one great granddaughter, Lisa.

She is survived by two daughters, Karen Ferrell of Desloge and Rita Stegall of Farmington; six grandchildren, Crystal (Dustin) Lucas of Hillsboro, Brandon (Kayla) Mahurin of North Carolina, Heather Beyersdoffer of Farmington, Cheri Beyersdoffer of Farmington, Adam Stegall and Monica Stegall both of Washington State; fourteen great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gladys dedicated her life to her family.  She knew the lord and always shared his kindness. Her sense of humor was often the first thing you noticed about her, even in her teen years she made it a point to ensure that those around her were laughing and smiling. She cared for anyone she encountered, giving to others anything she had that they needed even when she too was lacking. She contributed her working life to the field of nursing, having achieved a degree in nursing.  She enjoyed her time interacting with others, faithfully caring for others in a nursing facility for many years.  Gladys always attempted to make life easier for those less fortunate than she. She especially had a calling for those who didn’t have anyone to call family as she became their family.

Visitation will be held  Thursday, March 30, 2023 at C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home-Caldwell Chapel in Park Hills from 10:00 AM until service time of 11:00 AM with Pastor Kent Ward officiating. Burial will follow at Parkview Cemetery in Farmington.
