James Ely

September 1, 1947 ~ January 31, 2023

          James Ely, 75, of Desloge, passed away January 31, 2023, at Parkland Health Center South in Farmington.  He was born September 1, 1947, in St. Francois County, to the late Melvin and Joyce Lorane (Shannon) Ely.  James was a member of the Irondale Assembly of God Church and Shopmens Local 518 Ironworker's Union.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, as well as riding his motorcycles.

         He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Chad Taylor and one brother, Melvin Ely.

         James is survived by his loving wife, Belinda “Diane" (Mills) Ely; children, Tina Neubrand and husband Terry, Brandon Ely and wife Audra, Justin Ely and wife Tiffani and Ryan Ely; grandchildren, Demi (Corey) Steinmeyer, Kaylee and Nicklas Neubrand, Duncan, Kaylynn, Bryson, Landon and River Ely; siblings, Rick Ely and wife Robin, Pastor Roger Ely and wife Jackie; several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends, also survive.

You are one of a kind and was always there to step up and help absolutely anyone. I thank God everyday that we got to get close to one another. I promise to take care of your son Justin and your beautiful grandson River, and to help your beautiful wife as much as I possibly can. I love you so much Jim. We will see you again one day, I truly believe! Lord thank you for giving us the time that we have had with this wonderful man and for letting him see my husband and I have our first baby that we tried so hard for, thank you lord for allowing us to tell him one last time how much he ment to us and to let him hold his grandson one last time. We know that he is with you lord and rejoicing as we speak. In Jesus name amen!
