James Ely

          James Ely, 75, of Desloge, passed away January 31, 2023, at Parkland Health Center South in Farmington.  He was born September 1, 1947, in St. Francois County, to the late Melvin and Joyce Lorane (Shannon) Ely.  James was a member of the Irondale Assembly of God Church and Shopmens Local 518 Ironworker's Union.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, as well as riding his motorcycles.

         He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Chad Taylor and one brother, Melvin Ely.

         James is survived by his loving wife, Belinda “Diane" (Mills) Ely; children, Tina Neubrand and husband Terry, Brandon Ely and wife Audra, Justin Ely and wife Tiffani and Ryan Ely; grandchildren, Demi (Corey) Steinmeyer, Kaylee and Nicklas Neubrand, Duncan, Kaylynn, Bryson, Landon and River Ely; siblings, Rick Ely and wife Robin, Pastor Roger Ely and wife Jackie; several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends, also survive.

         Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Monday, February 6, 2023, from 11:00 AM until time of service at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens in Farmington.  Memorials may be directed to the family in C/O C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
