Jennie White

March 26, 1931 ~ October 11, 2022

 

       Virginia "Jennie" White age, 91, of Desloge, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at The Baptist Home in Arcadia Valley. She was born Thursday, March 26, 1931, in Ironton.

          She started her career right out of high school in Accounting at the REA until she married.  Then she transitioned to a pastor’s wife with many “hats” in supporting him in the ministry for over 50 years.  She enjoyed working with woman’s ministries and supporting her church even after his death.

          She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Everett and Virgie Elma (Huff) Vickery; husband, Rev. William T. White; siblings, Charles E. Vickery, Jr., Robert Huff Vickery and Mary Elizabeth (Vickery) Benes. 

          Jennie is survived by her siblings, Carol Rinehart and James Vickery along with several nieces and nephews.

          Graveside service will be held 11:00 AM on Friday, October 14, 2022, at Arcadia Valley Memorial Park Cemetery in Arcadia with Chaplain Jim Wills officiating. Arrangements under the direction of C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge.

  1. I remember Jennie when her husband was pastor here at Bismarck United Methodist Church. She was a very sweet lady and always looked so pretty. I had no idea where she lived now. RIP beautiful lady.

  2. My family was so fond of Jennie and Bill when they were at Desloge Methodist church. She was a beautiful person and marvelous cook!  I still have some of her recipes in her hand writing. When they retired and lived in Sugar Maple Condos and were neighbors of my mother. Jennie and Bill are together with Jesus. May God Bless them.

  3. Many fond memories of Jennie and Bill when they were at Macon.  They both were influential in my entering the ministry later in life. That influence has touched a lot of people over the years. Rest well with Jesus!
