He was born September 29, 1951 in Ripley, Tennessee.He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Nazareth in St. Louis.John was preceded by his parents, Clarence and Mertie (Reed) Gleghorn; brother, Charles Gleghorn; twin brother and sister, Lester and Esther Gleghorn; granddaughter, Ashley Michelle Gleghorn.John is survived by his wife, Sheila Gail (Swiney) Gleghorn of Leadwood; son, John Gleghorn Jr. and wife Teresa of Cherokee Pass; daughter, Barbara Lambert of Leadwood; four grandchildren, Caleb and Jacob Gleghorn, Abby and Harrison Lambert; brothers, Clarence Gleghorn and wife Arlene of St. Louis, Jim Jeffries and wife Rose of Wildwood; sisters, Shelby, Lula, and Nancy of St. Louis.Visitation is 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Friday, June 24, 2011 at C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge. Services are 1:00 PM Saturday, June 25, 2011 at C. Z. Boyer & Son Chapel with Pastor Ron Marler officiating.
