Joseph P. Hamer, 92, of Bonne Terre passed away August 5, 2011 at St. Joe Manor. He was born February 6, 1919 in Dyersburg, TN. Joe retired after 30 years from Essex Industries in St. Louis.He was preceded in death by his parents, Von and Letha (Patterson) Hamer; wife, Georgia (Thaxton) Hamer; grandson, Kevin Hamer.Joseph is survived by five children, Charles Hamer and wife Vicky of Festus, Otis Hamer and wife Diana of Hillsboro, George Hamer of Las Vegas, NV, Rich Hamer and wife Rita of Washington, D.C., Kathy (Mrs. Bill) Stegall of Bonne Terre; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.Visitation will be Monday, August 8, 2011 from 4 PM until 8 PM at C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre. Service will be Tuesday at 11 AM at C. Z. Boyer & Son Chapel with Rev. Kennard Mayfield officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Bonne Terre. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
