Leamay LaPlant, age 102, of Desloge, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Camelot Nursing Center in Farmington. She was born on Tuesday, March 22, 1921, in Elvins, to the late Peter and Mary Virginia (Goverau) Sirclum. Leamay was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Park Hills. She loved traveling to any destination, having her family together and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Joe LaPlant; siblings, Madlyn Christopher and Orvill James Sirclum in infancy.

Leamay is survived by two sons, Denver “Stan” LaPlant, Jr. and wife Cora, Robert “Bob” LaPlant and wife Linda; grandchildren, Steve (Amy) LaPlant, Stacy (Joe) Hertenstein, Regina (Aaron) Cowin, Bryan LaPlant; step-grandsons, Brian Johnston, Jason (Melanie) Johnston; great-grandchildren, Jenna Hertenstein, Abbey LaPlant, Sam LaPlant, Jake Hertenstein, Tessa (Aaron) Ervin, Hannah Cowin, Becca LaPlant, Riley LaPlant, Harlea Johnston, Isaiah Johnston and Alyxandria Johnston; and special friend, Jessica Hawkins.

Visitation will be held at C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Sunday, November 12, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Park Hills, Monday, November 13, 2023, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be donated to St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry @ 1020 W. Main, Park Hills, MO 63601.

  8. I have known LeaMay for several years, since Joe and I were young teenagers! She was such a sweet lady. Almost my mother in law!!! She was a great Christian lady! I have missed our talks! I know how happy she and Joe are now together in Heaven! Prayers to the LaPlant family!
