Linda Batterton

October 21, 1935 ~ December 24, 2022

Linda Bruce Batterton, 87 of Desloge, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2022, at Presbyterian Manor in Farmington.  She was born October 21, 1935, in Keiser, AR, to the late Lloyd and Donna (Ellison) Bruce.

      Linda was a graduate of Puxico High School and received a BS in Education from Washington University in 1965. She later received her masters from Southeast Missouri State in 1972 with a Specialist in reading.  She taught in the North County school district for over 30 years as a fourth grade and remedial reading teacher. Linda loved golfing and was an avid reader and loved the outdoors, camping and fishing with Oral, but mostly floating Missouri’s beautiful rivers. She was also a member of the Desloge First Baptist Church.

      She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of sixty years, Oral William Batterton; precious daughter, Donella Ray, and beloved son-in-law Robert A. Perry.

       Linda is survived by her daughter, Denise Perry of Desloge; two grandchildren, Robert R. Perry of Dewey, Oklahoma, and Lindsay R. Perry of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; and three great-grandchildren, Vera, Zoey, and Levi; as well as numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and treasured friends.

       Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Wednesday, December 28, 2022, from 11:00 AM to the service at noon Rev. Bradford Laubinger officiating.  Interment will be at the Gum Springs Cemetery in Salem AR on Thursday December 29, 2022, at 2:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be given to the Desloge Public Library, 300 N. I never got the privilege of knowing your mom & vaguely remember your dad, I know how hard ìt is loosing parents & especially during the holidays…again I'm so sorry
