Mr. Mark David Griggs, of Farmington, passed away, July 3, 2005, at Parkland Health Center - South, Farmington, at the age of 47 years, 11 months & 26 days. Mark was born July 7, 1957, in Newton, Iowa. Mark was preceded-in-death by his father, Ronald Griggs.
Mark was: * Owner of Blake Graphic Arts & Sign-A-Rama of Farmington. Member of: * St. Francois Co. United Way; * Farmington Chamber of Commerce; * Farmington Industrial Development Assoc.; * Farmington Downtown Development Assoc.; * Farmington Kiwanis; * Farmington ELKS Lodge #1765; * Memorial United Methodist Church.
Survivors Include: his WIFE: Anita 'Sauer' Griggs; DAUGHTER: Amanda (Mrs. J.) Farrell & SON: Eric Griggs, all of Farmington. His MOTHER: Karen 'Mortley' Griggs, of Sheldon, IA; His GRANDMOTHER: Gladys Griggs, Santa Ana, CA; 1 SISTER: Cari (Mrs. Kelly) McPartland, Ames, IA; 1 BROTHER: Jeff (& Paula) Griggs, Milo, IA; Brothers-In-Law: Mike & Marilyn Sauer, Prior Lake, MN; Byron & Ally Sauer, Albuquerque, NM; Jeff & Mary Lynn Sauer, Wayzata, MN; Sisters-In-Law: Nadene & Greg Morning, Austin, TX; Sharon & Bill Michaelidis, Sioux Falls, SD; Pam & Grant Mears, Sioux City, IA; Also, lots of Aunts; Uncles; Nieces; Nephews & Cousins.

Anita and Family, So sorry to hear of your loss. Our family knows to well how devastating a loss such as this can be and also the times ahead. Around 61/2 yrs. ago we expereinced what you are going through right now. It is tough but with your family, friends and the love of your Heavenly Father you will receive the strength to make it through another hour,day,week, month and year. We shall be keeping you in our prayers and if ever you need a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on, feel free to call. Our phone line will always be open to help in whatever way we may be able to.

Anita – I can't begin to say how sorry we all are for you and your family. I will cherish all the memories I have of my friendship with Mark, including and especially his sarcastic sense of humor and dry wit. He's done so much for this community, and we will always be grateful and will be better human beings for having known Mark. God bless you.
Anita and family, we were so sorry to learn of Mark's passing. He was such a wonderful friend to us and the community. I always enjoyed talking to him at the Wednesday Kiwanis meeting, he always had a kind word and was very encouraging. We will miss him greatly. You and your family will be in our prayers.
Mark will be long remembered for what he brought to Farmington. He was a wonderful example for us to follow. Mark's light will shine in the hearts of many. May God's peace and grace be with his family and friends.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I just talked to Mark for 30 minutes about 3 weeks ago. He was so excited over the Sign Dept he was developing. He has always been so helpful with our business needs. We will miss him so much. I always thought of him as my friend instead of doing business with him. If, you need anything please call. I wanted to tell everyone that I am so sorry for your loss. Mark was a great guy and always had a smile when I saw him. I can not imagine the pain and hurt that you are going through. At least now he's with God and the pain is gone. God Bless.

To the Griggs family: I am so very sorry for your loss. Mark was like a mentor to me. He gave me my first job in the graphic design field. Now, three years later, I am still going strong, and I have Mark to thank for giving me my first opportunity. He will dearly be missed by all who knew him. Anita, Amanda, and Eric, I extend my deepest sympathy to you in this time of your loss. I had not talked to Mark for a long time, but I often thought about him. I considered him to be my best friend when you called Audubon your home. We shared a lot of great times together and I will truly miss him. My Dear Anita and Family, We can't begin to tell you how sorry we all are to have heard the news from Cari. We just recieved word Wed.night. We had no idea how bad things were. I would give anything to be there with you right now. You know how much we loved Mark. One minute I'm crying and the next I'm laughing at something funny he did at one time. I'll never forget that infectious smile. If you need anything at all or even to talk, please call me. You also know how special you are to us. Our prayers are with you all. Jim and I just heard today (July 13) about Mark. What a shock! My father, Joe Sklenar, loved Mark like a son. Jim and I both enjoyed the friendship of Mark and Anita, and remember his joy at the birth of his children. His wonderful personality and kind, loving nature was a great comfort when my father died. I am very sad to think I will not have the chance to visit with him again. We had lost track of them over the years. Please accept our deepest sympathy for your loss. Love, Jane
I was just searching through the Taylor web-site and ran across this. I used to work for Taylors and also for Dan Combs I.E. Little Caesars. I saw Marks name and about fell out of my chair. I met Mark when I worked at the Farmington Chamber of Commerce. He was a wonderful guy and I will miss him alot. My heart goes out to Anita and their children. I will keep you all in my prayers.
