Mary Katherine RobinsonOctober 12, 2010FRANKCLAY - Mary Katherine Robinson, 69, of Frankclay, Missouri ended her short and tragic battle with cancer on October 12, 2010. She was surrounded by family at her home at the time of her passing.She is preceded in death by her father, Rolla Mayes, killed in action in World War II. Mary leaves a loving husband of forty-eight years, Franklyn Robinson of Frankclay, Missouri; three children, Lynn Robinson of Columbia, Missouri; Laura Robinson (married to Robert DeHaven) of Lawrenceville, Georgia; Jedediah Robinson of Frankclay, Missouri; and Holly Parker (married to Charles Parker) of Richwoods, Missouri. She also leaves her eighty nine-year old mother, Marie Mayes Leon of St. Louis, Missouri, and two sisters, Jean ODonnell of Santa Rosa, California and Judith Engle of St. Louis, Missouri; as well as numerous cousins.Mary also leaves three grandchildren, whom she adored, seven-year-old Brennen DeHaven and five-year-old of Mariana DeHaven of Lawrenceville, Georgia; and two-year-old Jessica Cotton of Columbia, Missouri.Mary was born Mary Katherine Mayes in Centralia, Missouri, on June 6, 1941. Mary enjoyed her professional career as a secretary in the early years of her married life and was a member of the American World War II Orphans Network. She will be remembered for her empathy for others, her dedication to her grandchildren, and returning to professional work at age 67 to learn new things and provide little things to her loved ones.Arrangements will be made by C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Leadwood. A celebration of her life is planned for later in the month.In remembrance, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
