Mrs. Mayme Margaret 'Gill' Skaggs, of Farmington, passed away early Tuesday morning, October 25, 2005, at the Southbrook Skilled Nursing Center, in Farmington, at the age of 95 years, 10 months & 1 day. Mayme was born December 24, 1909, in Bloomfield, MO., to Samuel Gill & Harriet 'Harper' Gill. She was also preceded in death by her 1st husband, Ted Palmer; 2nd husband, Firman Skaggs; 2 Sons: James Ted Palmer & Bobby Dean Palmer; 2 Sisters: Daisy Ragland & Leona Lincoln & 4 Brothers: Hansel Gill, Roy Gill, Bonnie Gill & Harry Gill.

Mayme was a longtime faithful member of Farmington First Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include: 1 Daughter: Thelma Haynes, of Doe Run. 2 Granddaughters: Peggy 'Mrs. Rich' Thomas, of Desloge & Patty 'Mrs. Dale' Barnhouse, of Doe Run. 5 Great-Grandchildren: Terry (& Kim) Crabdree; Kristina (Mrs. Rick) Wilson; Anita (Mrs. Todd) Brackett; Joshua Nicholson; Amanda (Mrs. Billy) Bland. 8 Great, Great-Grandchildren: Christopher; Aaron; Alyssa; Toddy; Brennon; Briley; Matthew & Ashlynn. 1 Great, Great, Great-Grandchild: Natalie.

Visitation: Wednesday, 5-8 pm

Visitation Resumes: Thursday, 7 am

Funeral: Thursday, 11 am, Oct. 27th

at: TAYLOR Funeral Service CHAPEL, with Rev. Roger Hogan officiating.

Interment: Hillview Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Farmington.

Memorials to: * Farmington First Free Will Baptist Church.

  2. I have wonderful memories of my Aunt Maymie – most include food. I loved spending the night with her and eating ice cream floats! She was just fun to be with and I love her dearly. Love and prayers to the rest of the family.

  4. I am so sorry to hear of Maymie's passing. I remember hearing so many wonderful stories of her from my Aunt Debe and Aunt Sandy. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

  5. My aunt Mayme was the best aunt there was. She was the most kindest lady and so sweet. I remember going up to her and Unk's house and spending time with them. I loved her and will miss her very much…
