Today is a day that all those that knew and loved Myranda can smile and say that she is in no more pain. Myranda was a person that as soon as you met her, you fell instantly in love with. Her smile and attitude is one that should be an example to everyone that our hardships are petty compared to persons like her. She will be missed by all that knew her, but even though I will miss seeing her face, I know that she is not in pain and looking down from those golden streets. To all of Myrandas' family you have my sympathy. Love, Josh, Amy, and Isaiah Dugal
Katie, Lonnie and I send our condolences to you and your family. I have had you all in my thoughts and prayers and so have my sisters and brother and their churches. God be with you. Kathy and Lonnie Dunham

Myranda was a great friend. I remember when we would ride the bus to and from school. I remember thinking how cool i was to be sitting by an eighth grader, me being a seventh grader. To me she was a very great person to look up to and she will be greatly missed by many. There are so many lives that she has touched with her story and those people will never forget her. I am glad she is with her creator and is out of her pain and suffering. She was and still a very brave and determined girl. I will miss you Myranda!!!
Our prayers and thoughts are with you.
To Myranda's family and friends: Myranda was a sweet and cheerful person from the day I met her and I feel privileged to have known her. My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of sorrow.

While this must be your greatest challenge, I know you will comfort your family and remain strong. Please also remember that we are, and always will be, there for you if there is ever anything we can do. While I have attempted to convey my thoughts, no words I could speak will truly express my family's sympathy. Kim, Cole and I would like you to know that Miranda will remain in our lives forever. Katie & family, our thoughts and prayers are with your family during this most difficult time. I spoke to Justin from Iraq last evening and I informed him about Myranda. He told me that just the night before he had wondered how she was doing. I can't image the pain that you must be going through with the loss of a child. Just remember she is no longer in any pain, she is at peace. The Forsythe family.
We can't be there in body but we are there in spirit and in our hearts. Our prayers go out to everyone. I had the opportunity to meet Myranda only a short time ago. I can only say I was very impressed with her as a beautiful, bright and caring young lady. We can take peace in knowing she is in no pain and in a much happier place. We now have another guardian angel from above. What a treasure and blessing to have her the short time we did. God Bless all of you. Debbie Asher
Myranda lit up the room as she entered. I was blessed to have her in my 8th grade Career's Class. I always looked forward to seeing her beautiful smile. My thoughts and prayers are with her loved ones.
I am so very sorry to hear about Myranda. I did not know her, but I would see her alot of mornings dropping you off at work. She always had a smile on her face & would say hello. My prayers & thoughts are with you & you're family.
This beautiful young woman reminds me of a rose, it is born, lives it life for those around us can be awed by its beauty, then it withers away . Myranda was the same as the rose, she was here for her family and friends for a short time, she brought many great joys and happiness to whom ever came in contact with her, and then the Lord took her home, her work here on earth was done, she is to suffer no more . My prayers are with your family, for I am dealing with a cancer patient in my life as well, I know what you went through.
I will remember Myranda, always, for her smile when she came into the office. She touched all of our lives without even knowing. I will be praying for you all. Patti
Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of great loss. No amount of words can take the pain and sadness away, but know that we are with you Heart and Soul.

Myranda has always been an inspiration to me since moving here in Dec. 2001. I met Myranda at Women of Faith. I was totally impressed that such a young cutie would want to hang out week after week with a bunch of ladies MUCH older than she. I, like all who knew Myranda, fell in love with her freshness, vitality and love for the Lord. I will miss seeing her on the earth but will one day unite with her in eternity. Love and prayers to you Katie and your family. Suzy Belew

Dear David, Please accept our sincere sympathy, we are so sorry to hear of your loss of Myranda. She fought such a hard battle and certainly deserves her place in Our Lord's arms. You are in our thoughts.
My heartfelt prayers are with each and every family member and friend of Myranda. It's been five long years since I've been able to speak to Myranda face to face…yet we kept in contact by internet as much as possible. Although we hadn't seen each other in years, Myranda always kept the friendship close and fresh. She was a beautiful girl inside and out. I will miss her encouragements and smiles. Her Heavenly Father is being glorified at this very moment as she rests for the first time in his arms; free from pain and illness. God is near you all.
Katie, Nick, Val, & Lee; "Faith is a journey, not a destination". When I read that statement my first thought went to Myranda. What a Faith filled journey she has taken. She always carried herself with such grace and strength. She was an inspiration to everyone that she meet. Her light still shines brightly in each of us. We will miss her terribly. I find such comfort in knowing I will see that beautiful smile again someday and then it will be forever. God Bless you all and know we are here for you. With much love and constant prayers, Jayne, Jim, Ben, & Jonathan
From the first time Myranda Starkey entered my office, I was impressed by her intelligence and personable demeanor. She shared with me her dreams of being an educator and eventually becoming a school administrator. Without a doubt, I knew Myranda was a STAR who could be anything she wanted to be. However, things turned out differently than planned. As I visited with Myranda over the years after her diagnosis with cancer, I found her to be mature beyond her years in her war against the hateful illness. Her faith in our Heavenly Father and the courage she displayed were inspiring. My life is better because I knew this outstanding young woman. My prayers are with her family and friends.
Hi, I am from the Park Hills area and always read the daily journal online. I did not know your daughter, but I was compelled to watch her tribute page. Children are God's gift of love to all parents, and he trusts us as parents to take care of them as he would. YOU HAVE MADE GOD PROUD to have entrusted you with his precious gift of Myranda. The gift that God entrusted you with, because of your life lived examples of compassion, and unconditional love, gave back to so many – ten fold. There was never a time that Myranda didn't give compassion and unconditional love with the determination to not miss anyone in her path. May we never let the light of life that Myranda shared with all, ever burn out. She will be greatly missed, our prayers will be with you kati,Nick,Valerie,Lee and David.
