My sympathy to all of Nadine's family. She was my friend and mentor at first Baptist Farmington. Thirty five years ago she introduced me to teaching preschoolers. She loved children and preschool was her favorite. Especially the kindergarten Class. She loved the children and they loved her. She set such a good example for the children and the other teachers. One child's grandmother asked him what he learned in Sunday School that day. He told her he had learned to share. You could tell that pleased Nadine so much. She has been my friend all these years and I am still working with preschoolers. She gave me a love for them too. She talked about Larry and his family so often you felt as though you knew them too. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. How she loved to talk about them. I know you all will miss her so much. It is hard to imagine her gone. Nadine, I will love and miss you forever. You will be one of the first ones I want to see when I get to heaven. My sincere sympathy to the family.
Larry, so sorry for your loss. Your mother was a great woman. Over 30 years ago, I used to teach 4 & 5 year olds with her at the First Baptist church. If I ever ran into her on my trips to Farmington, she always knew me.
Nadine was my neighbor for over 18 years, until my divorce, she was the most caring and wonderful women, my daughter loved her. She will be sadly missed Paige Merseal (Dalton)
Larry – just wanted to pass along my sincere condolences for the loss of your mother. It is always so difficult to loose a loved one. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
Mrs. Mathews was are neighbor when I was a kid. I loved going over to her house and visiting with her when I got home from school. She was a very sweet lady. We would make stuff in art like things for May Day when I got home I go put it on her door..when we moved I was so upset because I would not get to see her every day. But I did stil get to go see her. She always bought girlscout cookies from me so that always gave me a reason to stop and visit!! As I became a adult I would often run into her at the stores. She always had a smile on her face!! I will miss you very much!!! RIP my dear ol friend!!!
A long time friend and client. I did her returns since 1982 I believe. Will miss her.
Nadine was a long time friend and church member, sunday school teacher. As an added treat she lived across the street from my husbands place of business and on numerous occasions we were able to witness her interaction with the neighborhood kids. They all loved her dearly. Several of them could not say Nadine…so they called her "neighbor bean", which she willingly and lovingly accepted as a jesture of love. Nadine will be greatly missed by all of us. Her kindness and sharp wit, gentle spirit, and loving nature was a gift she shared with all of us no matter how well she knew us. She was fiesty, always had a smile, never seemed to meet a stranger she couldnt talk to, and never met a person she couldnt share the love for her Lord with. God gave her a grace to communicate with people on a level all understood no matter their age. Nadine, it was a pleasure to call you friend, and we will greatly miss you…to your family, you were lucky to have her in your lives, she was a gem in todays world, a lady of grace and dignity who loved her Lord, her family and her friends. god Be with you my friend, soar with angels. Bud and Donna
Larry, My sister-in-law Jennie told me about your mother's passing. She was such a sweet Christian lady! I'll always remember what a help she was to me the summer I worked in the Light Office at Farmington (I perhaps should say she "put up with me"), or what a joy it was to see her smiling face at church in more recent years when I have visited. I know you and your family will miss her terribly. You are in my prayers. Martha
May God comfort you during this time of sorrow. Our loss is God's gain in heaven. We will keep you in our Prayers. JERRY & MARY POGUE
Mrs. Matthews was such a wonderful lady. I will always picture her with a smile on her face. I know she is wearing one now. I would always go to her room right after Sunday School to meet mom. One day she was showing the children how to make homemade butter by shaking cow's milk with cream in a Mason jar. She put a little butter on crackers for them to sample. Just another way to illustrate how God has provided for our physical needs. He also has provided for our spiritual needs. Jesus Christ is our Redeemer. He died in our place. We should live for Him.
Mrs. Mathews was a super, loving, caring and wonderful person.. She took care of my kids in the nursery at the church..and was always there if u needed something.. God Bless her family.
