Roberta Ruth Thurman Dean Rawson, age 77, of Desloge, Missouri, passed away August 7, 2011 at her residence. She was born September 8, 1933 in Bonne Terre, Missouri.She was preceded by her parents, Jess Luther and Jessie May (Vandiver) Thurman; husbands, Charles Dean and William Rawson; infant daughter, June Elaine; infant Great-granddaughters Madison Bailey and Samantha Reynolds; brothers and sisters, Luther Vandiver, Robert, Elroy, and Jettie Thurman, Marvin Vandiver, Luther Thurman.Roberta is survived by her eight children; Deborah (Larry) Gamache of Bonne Terre, Cynthia (Rev. Charles) Patterson of Texas, Rev. William Rawson (Angie) of Farmington, Janet (DeWayne) Reynolds of Desloge, David Rawson (Kathy) of Bonne Terre, Diana (Pete) Pyeatt of Desloge, Beverly (Terry) Phillips of Bonne Terre, James Rawson (Donna) of Cuba; nineteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren; sister Frances (Leroy) Mayberry of Bonne Terre.Visitation is 10 AM Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre.Service will follow at 1:00 PM Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at C. Z. Boyer & Son Chapel with Bishop James D. Binion officiating.Burial will follow in Bonne Terre Cemetery.

My prayers and heartfelt sympathy to each one of Roberta's family as well as Lorraine at this time. I will always have wonderful childhood memories during the summer time spending a week or more at the home of Aunt Jessie & Uncle Jess. Roberta was a always a special cousin to me. I looked forward to those summer visit's playing as a child with my Thurman cousins in Bonne Terre. I know Roberta stayed true to her Lord and one day we will meet again with a wonderful Thurman reunion in Heaven. God Bless each one of you.
