Ruth Marie Denton, 96, of Farmington passed away June 27, 2022 at Presbyterian Manor. She was born May 31, 1926 in Leadwood to the late Glen and Mabel (Belknap) Maurer. Ruth was an active member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Farmington and also the Business and Professional Women’s Club. Ruth was loved by all who knew her. Her kindness, generosity and caring for others were known to all. Her joy for life and family knew no bounds.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard K. Denton; brother, Robert Maurer; son-in-law, Dennis Lee Ellis.
Ruth is survived by four children, Karen Ellis, Anita Moore, Karl Denton and wife Lisa, Diane Hitson and husband Roger; nine grandchildren, Lauren (Nathan) Howard, Matthew Ellis, Sarah Moore, Kate (Ryan) Moore-Robbins, Jerad (Sarah) Denton, Cole (Helen) Denton, John (Mai) Hitson, William Hitson, Theodore “Ted” Hitson; nine great-grandchildren, Natalie Howard, William Howard, Nathan Howard, Matthew Joseph Ellis, Alexandra Robbins, Aiden Robbins, Bennett Denton, Owen Hitson, Jonah Hitson; two sisters, Barbara Coffman and Judy Walters.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 5, 2022 from 10:00 AM until 11:45 AM at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home – Taylor Chapel in Farmington. A Funeral Mass will follow at noon on Tuesday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Farmington. Interment will follow at New Calvary Cemetery in Farmington. Memorials may be made to Catholic Charites or St. Joseph Catholic Church.
