Shirley Rose Burns

Shirley Rose Burns, of Desloge, passed away Thursday, September 30, 2021 at her residence at the age of 84.  She was born Tuesday, February 16, 1937 in Potosi, Missouri.  Shirley was a homemaker she loved her church family she was a proud member of Open Arms Full Gospel Church. She taught vacation bible school when she was younger. Shirley enjoyed listening to Gospel music, going out to dinner, flowers and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by many.

Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband, Tom Burns, parents; Fred and Verna (Doss) Skiles, granddaughter; Ashley Burns, siblings; Melvin Skiles, Margie Clubb, Marion Skinner, brother-in-law; Bill Fong.

Shirley is survived by her children, Jim (Ellen) Burns, Nancy (Jerry) Geolat, Jeff Burns, Ben (Tami) Burns, Donnie Burns and Angie (Brent) Hulsey, siblings; Doris Fong, Sue (John) Hicks, Jessie Smith, sixteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; along with  many nieces, nephews, numerous family members and friends. 

Visitation will be held Monday, October 4, 2021 from 10:00 an until 1:00pm at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre with a funeral service at 1:00pm.  Interment will follow at Charter Cemetery in DeSoto, Missouri. Rev. Sue Hicks will be officiating.
