Thomas David Kitrel, 71, of Bonne Terre passed away August 7, 2021. He was born October 27, 1949 in St. Louis to the late David and Bernice (Penick) Kitrel. Thomas proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother.
Thomas is survived by four siblings and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral procession will leave from C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 8:45 AM going to Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery for a graveside service to be held at 10:00 AM with full Military Honors. Arrangements are under the direction of C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre.

I met Tom in 1975 when I was worked at The Acropolis Greek restaurant in the Central West End; Tom was a frequent customer. He was quiet, but witty and funny and we all liked him so much. We reconnected in 2017 on Facebook and enjoyed time together again. Tom was an avid reader and we often shared about books and musicians we both liked. Tom was very brave and uncomplainng as his health worsened in recent years. Renee and her family welcomed Tom into their home, offering him a happy family experience had never known. Renee was an incredible friend to Tom and I know he lived her dearly. Many people will miss this kind intelligent and sensitive man. Rest in Peace,dear Tom.
