It’s with heavy hearts we announce the death of William Joseph Funke, Jr., who was born Thursday, April 28, 1938 in Wellston, Missouri, William was born to the late William Joseph and Vesta (Vessel) Funke, Sr. He passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 8, 2023.
William owned and operated a Landscape business for many years, he was a member of Sonrise Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing trips with his best friend Charlie Pinkley, going to the casino, family gatherings, helping others when needed, he was a wheeler and dealer kind of guy. William enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his only son Clayton, were they spent many hours tinkering in the garage.
William is preceded in death by his parents; grandsons, Ryan Gilbert, Michael Marquand and Nicholas Ventimiglia; brother; Richard Funke; brother -in-laws, Jim Warnack and Roger Hewett.
He is survived by his significant other, Amanda Van Meter; children, Cathy Bengson late husband Ken Bengson, Linda Gilbert, Christine Little, Erin (Gene) Lawson, Shannon, Jeanine and Clayton Funke; Robin (Joe) Ventimilia, James ( Mae Sue) Kukan, Kevin Kukan; grandchildren, Scott Miller, Sandra Miller, Dana Blust, Dale Little, Matthew Marquand, Mya Thornton, Jamie Dudley, Jacob Goodrich, Crystal Turblak, Ashley and Ami Ventimiglia, James, Joseph, Haley and Kayla Kukan; seventeen great-grandchildren; siblings, Debra Warnack and Patricia Hewett and best friend Charlie Pinkley.

He was a good Dad and provider. He was an awesome Khoury League Baseball coach and a Boy Scout Leader for many years. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. My personal message to him would be THANK YOU!
