Alice Christena (Wallen) Pogue known to most as Tena, entered into eternal rest August 12, 2021. She was born in Ironton, Missouri on October 19, 1950, to the late John Smith and Leona Marie (Dotson) Wallen from Belleview, Missouri. She was united in marriage to John Gale Pogue, Sr. on June 23, 1968, and to this union three children were born: Jeana Marie Huff (Rich) of Park Hills, Missouri; Eildeana Jane Matthews (David) of Perryville, Missouri; and John Gale Pogue, Jr. (Chrissie) of Belleview, Missouri. Also surviving are twenty grandchildren: John Huff (Brittni), Kirsten Huff, Christina Cook (James), David Matthews (Stephany) John Matthews (Jessie), Miranda Slinkard (Craig), Garrett Matthews (Hannah), Abigale Ballard (Kodi), Rebbecca Gibson (Les), Christopher Pogue, Kara Rueweler Goodman (Mike). Nineteen great- grandchildren: Zoe, Alyssa, Kiersten, Landyn, Elizabeth, Korbyn, Levi, Tristan, Weston, Addilynn, Peyton, Nyla, Clara, Craig, Link, Liam, Eleanor, Veda, and Kinley. Tena has two surviving brothers: Jean Claude Simon of Nancy, France and Harry Ray Wallen of Rolla, Missouri; and one sister: Audrey Harp of Fredericktown, Missouri; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Tena worked as a dietician for the Belleview Valley Nursing Home for many years. She later worked for the Department of Corrections in Farmington, Missouri in the dietary department. Tena’s greatest love was taking care of her children and grandchildren.
