Alma Jean Pinkley

Alma Jean Pinkley, better known as “Grandma Pink” 93, of Desloge, passed away May 18, 2023, at her residence.  She was born January 29, 1930, in Bismarck, to the late Tony and Rose (Hasty) Helvey.  Alma Jean was a member of the Gospel Light Free Will Baptist Church in Bonne Terre.  She enjoyed playing on her iPad, reading the Bible and conservation magazines, working puzzles, embroidering and watching hummingbirds.  Alma Jean loved being a fur grandmama to her babies, Bella and Daisy, as well as a mother to her children and a grandma to her grandchildren. Alma Jean and Leroy were married on April 8, 1950.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leroy “Pink” Pinkley who passed on January 7, 1982; daughter, Margaret Lynn Cantrell; siblings, James Helvey, Rual Helvey, Pauline Remiers, Audrey Lucas, Giles Helvey, Bryan Helvey and Loraine Keathley.

Alma Jean is survived by her sons, Grant Pinkley and wife Patti, David Pinkley and wife April; grandchildren, Kyle (Wendy) Pinkley, Jared Pinkley, Corey (Summer) Pinkley, Ryan (Katie) Cantrell, Katie (Eddie) Smith, Lindsey (Eric Williams) Pinkley, Rachel Pinkley, Zach (Rachel) Pinkley, Bailey (Derek) Richard, Brendan Moore, Grace Moore and Hunter Pirtle; great-grandchildren, Nolan, Cooper, Hudson, Sullivan, June, Bethany, Nolan, Carson, Callie, Ash, Cora, Theodore, Addy, Ava and Luke; son in-law, Carl Cantrell; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Monday, May 22, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.  The visitation will resume, Tuesday, May 23, 2023, from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.  Reverend Larry Allison will be officiating.  Interment will follow at Bismarck Masonic Cemetery.  Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
