Alta Mae Doggett, age 97 of Fredericktown, Missouri passed away on Friday, May 3, 2019 at the Southbrook Nursing Center in Farmington. She was born on August 21, 1921 in the Yount Community, a daughter of Everett Wesley and Emma Jane (Hicks) Nations. . On December 23, 1938 in Perryville, Missouri she was united in marriage to James Roy Doggett whom she was married to for sixty four years, he preceded her in death on December 29, 2002. Her parents and one son – Kenneth Roy Doggett, one grandson – Darrin Sean Moyers and one brother – Ralph Nations. She is survived by: three daughters & sons-in-law – Flora & Ed Hahn of Perryville, Carol & Paul Harris of Fredericktown and Shirley & Ron Moyers of Farmington; eight grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. Alta had been the custodian for Fox school in Arnold, Missouri; she enjoyed quilting, tending to her flowers, collecting thimbles and playing bingo; she was a member of the Whitewater Christian Church but had been attending Higdon Christian Church. Visitation was from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., on Sunday, May 5, 2018 at Wilson Funeral Home in Fredericktown. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., on Monday, May 6, 2019 at Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor James Graddy officiating. Interment was at the Higdon Christian Cemetery in Higdon. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Higdon Cemetery Association. Condolences may be posted on this website.
