Alta Beatrice Stewart Kretschmar of Ironton, Missouri passed away April 14, 2017 in Des Peres, Missouri at the age of 92 years, 4 months, and 9 days. She was born December 5, 1924 in Elvins, Missouri the daughter of the late Levi and Allie (Smith) Johnson. Alta is survived by her children; Edward Weldon Stewart III and wife, Debby of Lesterville, Missouri, Linda Taylor and husband, Richard of Ballwin, Missouri, Brenda Sumner and husband, Joel of St. Mary, Missouri, her stepchildren; Sharon Young and husband, Bill of Jasper, Georgia, Tom Kretschmar and wife, Dale of Georgia, Kim Soward and husband, Brian of House Springs, Missouri, and Sandy Kretschmar also of House Springs, Missouri. In addition to her children, Alta is survived by a brother, Murphy Johnson of Wentzville, Missouri, nineteen grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
