Mrs. Alva Bloom passed away May 19, 2003, at National Health Care in Desloge, at the age of 83 years & 8 months. She was born Sept. 19, 1919, in St. Francois Co., to Luther & Lissie Winifred 'Hurst' Cook. Also preceding were: her husband, Norman Hillman Bloom; 1 Son, Glenwood Eugene Cook (1993); 1 Sister, Melba Jones & 1 Brother, Jessie Cook. Dora was a member of the Doe Run Assembly of God Church. SURVIVORS INCLUDE: 1 DAUGHTER, Sandra 'Mrs. Earl' Marler, of Desloge; 1 SON: Lawrence (& Nancy) Cook, of Farmington; 3 SISTERS: Beulah 'Mrs. Clyde' Sullivan; Norma 'Mrs. Frank' Pigg & Marie Clark, all of Farmington. 3 BROTHERS: James Cook, Fredericktown; Dale (& Frieda) Cook, Farmington; Ronald Dean Cook, Festus. 15 Grandchildren & 15 Great-Grandchildren. Visitation Wed., 6-9 p.m., resuming Thurs., 7 am, & funeral Thurs., 11 am, May 22, 2003, at TAYLOR Funeral Service CHAPEL, with Rev Hugh Cerutti officiating. Interment following at Pendleton Cemetery in Doe Run, MO. Memorials to: The Arthritis Foundation.
