Amos Mccall

            Amos Francis McCall, 88, of Farmington, passed away May 4, 2019 at Camelot Nursing & Rehab Center. He was born July 12, 1930, in Cantwell, to the late Frank and Mary Olive (Pratt) McCall. Amos was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Park Hills. He played music for years in all the local music venues and later in his career, he played music at a lot of the local senior centers. Amos was also a good carpenter and did a lot of building locally. He built his wife Dorothy, a greenhouse so she could grow products to donate to St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry.

            He was preceded in death by his siblings, Evelyn Womack, Genevieve Mahurin, (twin brother) Lenis McCall, Lorraine McCall, and Bea Stroup.

            Amos is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Dorothy (Straughan) McCall; children, Mary Angela Looney (Larry), Stephen Francis McCall (Debbie), Terry Diane McCall, and Lawrence “Joe” McCall (Pam); 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister in-law, Willa McCall; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends also survive.

            Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Wednesday, May 8, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Park Hills, Thursday, March 9, 2019 at 10:00 AM, with Rev. Mark S. Ebert officiating. Interment will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in Park Hills. Memorials may be directed to St. Vincent de Paul Society at Immaculate Conception.
