Listen to Obituary

Angela “Angie” Pallo-Monges, 56, was born on February 2, 1970, in Farmington, MO, to Charlene Williams Pallo. Angie lived a life rooted in love, family, service, laughter, and deep connection to her community. Her passing was sudden and leaves behind a loss that is hard to put into words.

Angie was preceded in death by her grandparents, George S. Pallo, Marie Hill Pallo, Dorothy Clark Pallo, Lyman Williams, and Helen Williams; and her uncle, Les Semar.

She leaves behind a family who loved her fiercely and will carry her with them always; daughters, Mia Monges and Bianca Monges; and her precious granddaughter, Nora Govero, who brought Angie so much joy in this most recent chapter of her life; her mother, Charlene Williams Pallo; her beloved sister, Alicia Pallo Eden and husband Jason Eden; an her brother, Matthew Murray.

She is also survived by Mary Williams Semar; Buns and Mary Pallo Ragsdale; Kevin and Sharon Pallo; and by many loved cousins, nieces, and nephews, including Cub Ragsdale and wife Shannon Ragsdale, Leigh Ragsdale-Knoderer and husband Matt Knoderer, Ava Eden, Cora Eden, Madison Eden, Cole Ragsdale, Charlee Ragsdale, Cleo Ragsdale, Nicolette Knoderer, Will Knoderer, Tyler Murray, Jake Murray, Lilly Murray, and Logan Murray. Angie also held deep love for her Paraguay family, who remained close to her heart through the years.

In 1999, Angie married Lider Monges, and together they built a beautiful life and family centered around their daughters, Mia and Bianca, and later, the deep joy of granddaughter Nora. Though their marriage later changed, the love, respect, and bond they shared as family remained deeply special. Angie and Lider stayed closely connected through the years, united by the life they built together and the love they both carried for their girls and for Nora.

A 1988 graduate of Central High School, Angie continued her education at Mineral Area College before earning her psychology degree from the University of Missouri in 1992. She later earned her Master’s Degree in Curriculum & Instruction with specializations in Teaching, Bilingual/ESL Education from the University of Houston. Angie was a dreamer and a doer, and in 1995 she followed her heart into the Peace Corps, serving in Paraguay until 1997. It was there that she met Lider, and that chapter of her life became one of deep meaning, lifelong relationships, and expanded family. Their journey eventually led them to Texas before Angie found her way back home to Missouri.

Angie spent her life pouring into others through education. She taught Spanish at North County High School from 2011 to 2015 before returning to her Rebel roots at Central High School, where she taught from 2015 to 2026. She was adored by students, respected by colleagues, and was admired by the entire school community. Angie also coached 7th and 8th grade volleyball, sponsored Spanish Club, taught School Development Seminar, and served over the years as an adjunct professor at Mineral Area College.

Her students knew she expected a lot, but they also knew she loved them deeply. She was the recipient of the Staff to Honor award, a student-elected recognition she received more times than anyone could count. Under her leadership, students gave back to the community in meaningful ways, from picking up trash to ringing the bell for United Way during the holiday season. Angie never just taught Spanish. She taught service, connection, pride, and heart.

Her impact stretched far beyond the classroom. Angie was always willing to step in and help, whether that meant sponsoring dances, decorating cars for homecoming parades, assisting with graduation, or showing up wherever she was needed. She was the kind of person every school and every family hope to have, the one who quietly made everything better just by being there.

But above all else, Angie was family first. Her favorite place in the world was wherever her girls were. From Bianca’s choir concerts to traveling the country with Mia for volleyball, Angie never missed a moment. She showed up big, and she showed up every time.

She was also a loyal and dear friend who treasured making memories, especially with her high school friends. Angie loved to travel, laugh, celebrate, and soak up life with the people she loved most. She had a hilarious sense of humor and a mischievous side too. Angie was a true jokester and prankster, the kind of person who could make people laugh, lighten the mood, and create stories that would be told for years.

Most recently, she absolutely relished her role as Nora’s grandmother, and in true Angie fashion, she was wonderful at it. That role fit her beautifully.

To say Angie will be missed does not feel big enough. The truth is, she leaves a hole in the hearts of her family, her friends, her students, her colleagues, her Paraguay family, and this entire community. She was deeply loved, and she loved deeply in return. That kind of life leaves a mark, and Angie surely did.
