With cherished memories, we celebrate the life of Elmo Annette Brinkley, who peacefully passed away on August 2, 2025, at the age of 90, at Parkland Health Center South in Farmington. Born on March 14, 1935, in Bunker, Annette graced the lives of so many as a loving daughter of the late Ernest Elmer and Anna Katherine (Metzger) Wisdom.
Annette was a devoted member of the Bismarck Free Will Baptist Church, where her faith and commitment shone brightly. She was a beacon of kindness, using her talents to enrich her community. In her earlier years, Annette found joy in quilting and baking, even selling her beloved homemade bread to support her church. She often shared that it was God's calling to help fund the addition to their sanctuary—a testament to her unwavering faith and generous spirit.
In her leisure time, Annette found delight in watching old movies, with a particular fondness for "Miss Potter." Her love for storytelling extended beyond films, as she also enjoyed programs like "Flash Point," Christian News Stations, and "The Chosen Series," reflections of her lifelong devotion to her faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer Lee Brinkley; siblings, Freda Bernadene Brinkley, Omagene Wisdom and Clifton Wisdom; and son in-law, Carl Evan Albright.
Annette is survived by her loving children, Elmer Wayne Brinkley and wife Diane, Perteresa “Tracy” Annette Albright; grandchildren, Scott Brinkley (Kristen), Julie Slater (Allen), Catherine “Cathy” Bailey (Matthew) and Susan Trout (Dan); great-grandchildren, Lukus, Kaeley, Terence, Brianna, Chloe, Alicia, Devin, Joshua, and Zachary; great-great-grandson, Atlas; nieces, nephews, other family members as well as church family members also survive.
Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Tuesday, August 12, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the service time of 11:00 AM. Pastor Cleo Reeder will be officiating, assisted by Pastor Brian Smith. Interment will follow at 2:30 PM at Ellington Memorial Cemetery in Ellington, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorials in honor of Annette’s memory, be directed to the Bismarck Free Will Baptist Church.
