Anthony "Tony" Rolls

Anthony (Tony) Laine Rolls of Arcadia, Missouri passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family after his sudden diagnosis and hard-fought battle with cancer on Thursday, May 11, 2023. He leaves behind his loving wife Pamela Kugel-Rolls of nearly 37 years and their two adult children: Joshua Rolls of Forsyth, MO and Rebecca Weaver, husband Kevin Weaver, and children Laine, Phillip and Dylan Weaver of Millersville, MO.  He is also survived by his adult children Tony Johnson, Shelly Gore, Amber Wood and their families. Tony will be honored with a Celebration of Life ceremony, date to be announced.

Tony lived his 68 years, 6 months, 23 days of life with passion and positivity; infusing both in his love of family and interactions with everyone he met. A loving husband, dad and Papaw, his greatest joy was family. Hugs, teasing, homemade toys, homemade moments, “I love you,” and “I’m proud of you,” flowed freely to his children, and grandsons who hoovered around him for shared sips from his coffee cup that was as ever present as his focused time; his grandsons reveling in his love of trains and shared moments tucked away with Papaw in his model train room running trains around the tracks.

He was the finder of lost things. A full-on, all-animal whisperer. A plant and gardening lover, especially flowers and monster pumpkins for kids. A master storyteller with a love of simple everyday things who loved jokes, teasing and laughter. He lived his positivity with a mindset of, “What am I going to make better today?” His skills and mindset allowed him to work his way up to many upper management positions.

A humble man. A proud Mississippi boy and sailor with a deep love of his country, the sea, homemade pies and yeast rolls, Willie Nelson and “real” country music, with the belief a cup of coffee could always put things to right. Tony was the constant learner with many passions and interests.  The ultimate DIYer who could design, build, rebuild, repair anything: a master carpenter who built houses from penciled plans. An engineer, craftsman and mechanic restoring computers, boats and vehicles. His skills most evident in the current and final project he shared with his wife: the restoration of buildings and grounds of an abandoned property outside Arcadia. He loved all things homesteading and self-sufficiency. He was a wine maker and beekeeper. An emerging blues guitarist. A good ole country boy who loved his old trucks and all things nature, who would help anyone in need, who made friends wherever he went, who chose to see the best in any situation, and who knew God in his own way.  He will forever be missed by his family and the many friends who knew and loved him.

Arrangements are under the direction of C.Z. Boyer and Son Caldwell Chapel, Park Hills.
