Arley Mickel Stevens, age 94 of Fredericktown, Missouri passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at the Stockhoff Memorial Nursing Center in Fredericktown. He was born on October 15, 1922 in Coldwater, Missouri, a son of Hugh and Velma (Schaffer) Stevens. In February 1973 in Higdon, he was united in marriage to Helen Marie Barker she survives in Fredericktown. Other survivors include: son - Kenny (Linda) Stevens of Carrollton, Illinois; daughter - Debbie (Donnie) Wallace of Peel, Arkansas; stepchildren - Rhonda (Orville) White of Fredericktown, Sonie Torzewski of Evansville, Indiana and Dennis (Debbie) Barker of Carthage, Missouri; eleven grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters and one stepson.
Arley was a United States Army Veteran, he worked as an automobile mechanic and truck driver; he enjoyed being outdoors gardening, fishing and tinkering around. He attended the Oak Dale Baptist Church in Coldwater.
Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Wilson Funeral Home in Fredericktown. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, January 13, 2017 at Wilson Funeral Home with Bro. Clyde Bess officiating. Internment will be at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery near Fredericktown. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Disabled Veterans Association.
