Arlie Clarence Benton

Arlie Clarence Benton, born on Wednesday, February 5, 1958, in Ironton, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 26, 2025, at the age of 67. A resident of Fredericktown, Arlie lived a life defined by resilience and a love for the simple joys in life.

He is survived by his two loving daughters, Laura Benton, and Lisa Benton. Four grandchildren, Kevin Bolio, Naomi Bolio, Adam Touchette and Vanessa Touchette, that reside in Vermont the place Arlie called home for almost 30 years. He is survived by his four siblings, Roscoe Benton, Harvey “Buck” Benton, Dinah Orrick, and Debra “Debbie” Ramsey. Along with other family members and friends that survive.

Arlie was preceded in death by his parents; Arlie C. Benton and Ruby (Bates) Benton; seven siblings, Carol Oswald, Arnold “Dick” Benton, Jack Benton, Arbelle “Belle” Shaver, Pauline Reed, Doris Nye, Paulette Benton.

Arlie embodied the spirit of a lifelong learner, becoming a jack of all trades. Known for his exceptional skills in carpentry, he took great pride in working with his hands—his creations were reflections of his dedication and craftsmanship. Arlie had a passion for the outdoors, where he found solace in fishing and camping, often relishing the beauty of nature at every opportunity. In quieter moments, he could be found strumming his guitar, finding joy in music as a means to connect with those around him.

Arlie will be remembered for his unwavering spirit and commitment to enjoying life’s peaceful moments, despite the challenges he faced. He embraced each day with gratitude and a deep appreciation for the little things—qualities that inspired those around him.

As we reflect on Arlie's life, we hold tightly to the memories he created, forever grateful for the laughter, love, and lessons he imparted. May he rest in peace.
