             Arnold Devoid Barton, age 88, of Bonne Terre, MO, passed away on November 22, 2019 in the presence of his Savior.  Arnold was born on January 6, 1931, in Leadwood, MO, to the late William Luther and Alva Marie (Custer) Barton. Mr. Barton joined the Navy in 1949, honorably discharged shortly before the onset of the Korean Conflict.  He was a machinist by trade and loved gardening, especially if it yielded a good tomato crop.  Always the handyman, he built five of their homes.  Due to his faith in Jesus Christ as Savior, Arnold was always a faithful and active member and deacon of Sonrise Baptist Church. 

             In addition to his parents, Arnold was preceded in death by sisters, Daisy (Otho) Jenkins and Marcella Dotson.

             He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Carol L. (House) Barton; children, Denise (Jim) Greenacre of Troy, MO, Keith (Angie) Barton of Cleveland, TN, Lisa (Stephen) Gaither of Tonganoxie, KS and Janice (Patrick) Young of Oran, MO; 15 grandchildren, Tammy (Todd) Huskey of Raleigh NC, Chad (Heather) Greenacre of Fort Collins, CO, Tara (David) Ficher of San Tan Valley, AZ, Tania (Seth) Denney of Mt. Ayr, Iowa, Eli Barton of Cleveland, TN, Marc (Tara) Greenacre of Fort Collins, CO, Lydia (Owen) Speer of Apison, TN, Jared (Rachel) Barton of Cleveland, TN, Emily (Matt) Burke of Oran, MO, Brooke Biler of Kansas City, KS, Jonathan (Addie) Greenacre of Fort Collins, CO, Jennifer Greenacre of Raleigh, NC, , Amy Gaither of Kansas City, KS, Carrie (Jayson) Salvador of Troy, MO, Amanda Young of St. Louis, MO, Heather Gaither of Kansas City, KS, Matthew Young, USMC, CA; 35 great grandchildren; brother in laws, Robert (Roberta) House of Bonne Terre, MO, Barry (Louise) House of Boerne, TX; nieces,  Sheila (Eddie) Hedgecorth, Lyla Thiemet, Diane Scott and Amy Delgado; nephews, Jon Jenkins, James (Karen) Dotson, Robert (Laura)  House , II, and Curt (Jeniffer) House.

             Visitation will be Tuesday, November 26, 2019 from 4PM until 8PM at C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre. Service will be 11AM Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at C.Z. Boyer & Son Chapel with son in law, Rev. Jim Greenacre officiating and assisted by Pastor Daniel Wey.  Interment will follow at Bonne Terre Cemetery with military honors. Memorials may be made to the Sonrise Baptist Church (for The Light of Life Center. This is a missionary teaching and rescue center for girls in Southeast Asia.)
