Art Goede

          Arthur Lee "Art" Goede, Sr. 75, of St. Louis, passed away November 28, 2022, at his home surrounded by the ones he loved.  He was born July 5, 1947, in St. Louis, to the late Arthur Julius and Virginia Lee (Saunchegrow) Goede.  Art served his country in the United States Army.  He was a member of the Scottish Rite #138, past Grand Master of Odd Fellow St. Louis Lodge #5 and Farmington Masonic Lodge #32.  Art has served as chief and currently assistant chief with 21 years of service to the Lake Timberline Fire Department, as well as a treasurer on the board of directors, since 2012.  In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, and helping the Boy Scouts for over 30 years.

          He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Arthur “AJ” Goede, Jr.; and twin brother, Vernon Goede.

          Art is survived by his wife of 28 years, Tracy Goede; children, Kevin Goede and wife Cheryl, Shawn Goede and wife Annie, Amanda Sherwood and husband Ryan; nine grandchildren, Austin (Kaylee) Goede, Brooke Bady, Drew Goede, Grace Goede, Madison Goede, Hannah Sherwood, Liam Goede, Kyle Sherwood and Harper Goede; great-grandson, Oliver Goede; sister, Debbie Mueller; daughter in-law, Heather Goede; sister in-law, Margie Goede; brother in-law, Virgil Mueller; special aunt, Maureen Saunchegrow; many other family and friends, also survive.

          Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Thursday, December 1, 2022, from 4:00 PM until fireman service at 7:00 PM.  The funeral service will be held in the C.Z. Boyer and Son Chapel in Desloge, Friday, December 2, 2022 at 9:00 AM, with Brother Gary Hahler officiating.  The graveside service will be held at 12:30 PM at Polk Memorial Cemetery in Ellington, with full military honors.  The family requests memorials to be directed to Lake Timberline Fire Department or Serenity Hospice in lieu of flowers.
