Arthur J. Jones

Arthur Jones, a beloved husband, father, and friend, will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. Born on May 20, 1952, in Schweinfurt, Germany, Arthur graced the world with his presence until he peacefully passed away on August 11, 2026, at Mercy South in St. Louis. He was the cherished son of the late Anthony Vernon and Gertrude Isla (Kleinheinz) Jones. Arthur was not only a proud American but also a dedicated member of the United States Air Force, having enlisted on May 17, 1971, and rising to the rank of Staff Sergeant (SSGT E-5) before his honorable discharge on February 11, 1980. His service was a significant part of his life, and he remained active in his community as a valued member of VFW Post #6947 in Bismarck. He was of Lutheran faith and an avid lover of music. Arthur found joy in the melodies that enriched his life. He was also a passionate Ham Radio operator, mastering the craft during his nine years in the service and subsequently indulging in its nuances for over 35 years. His inquisitive nature led him to immerse himself in photography and the study of cars, showcasing his talent for understanding and appreciating the world around him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Dale Hindler and one brother, Mike Jones.

Arthur is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Roberta (Copp) Jones; daughter, Misty (Rowdy Jenkins) Copp; two grandchildren, Winter Jenkins and Emilie Perkins; siblings, Mary Klein, Klaus Jones and wife Hedy; niece, Brittany Salmon, Kiera Salmon, Erika Jones and Liane Derleth; nephews, Nick Jones, Steve Jones, Michael Jones and wife Christine and Steffen Jones; several other family members and friends also survive.

Arrangements are under the direction of C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge. Arthur’s wishes were an inurnment at Bloomfield National Cemetery and this will take place at a later date.Rest in peace, Arthur.  You will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
