Arthur William Scholbe, of Indianapolis, Indiana, & formerly of Farmington, passed away Monday, Feb. 19, 2007, at the St. Vincent Hospice Center, in Indianapolis, at the age of 85 years, 11 months & 26 days. Arthur was born in St. Louis, Mo., on Feb. 23, 1921, & was the son of Julia (nee Kick) & Arthur John Scholbe. Also preceding were: 1st Wife: Betty Sue 'Wallace' Scholbe & 1 Sister: Viola Duncan.

Survivors Include: his wife, Mary Jane Mills-Scholbe, of Indianapolis, 4 Sons: Arthur Scholbe; Michael (& Renee) Scholbe; Christopher (& Mary) Scholbe; Jack (& Linda) Scholbe. 2 Step-Daughters: Christine Mills & Catherine (Mrs. John) Haigerty; 4 Step-Sons: Michael (& Debra) Mills; John (& Donna) Mills; Stephen (& Gail) Mills & Robert (& Colleen) Mills. 1 Sister, Rosemary Scholbe; 2 Sisters-In-Law: Jane Ellen Loncaric & Billie Jo Lahay & 1 Brother-In-Law: Floyd Lahay. 2 Grandchildren: Jennifer & Matthew Scholbe; 12 Step-Grandchildren: Aaron, Joshua, Peter, Gregory, Natalia, John Anthony, Julianna & Susanna Mills & Jack, Peter, Samuel & Ryan Haigerty.

Arthur was a devout Catholic, and follower of our Lord Jesus Christ. He was a 3rd Degree member of Council #12332 of St. Joseph Parish, of Farmington; a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #4596, Holy Family Parish, of Cahokia, IL. Arthur was a US Army Veteran of World War II; a member of the American Legion & Veterans of Foreign Wars, Member of The International Brotherhood of Railway & Steamship Clerks, Member of Greenpeace; Sierra Club; Amnesty International & the Voice of the Martyrs. He was a lifelong follower of the teachings of Henry George, Economic Philosopher. He passed on to Jesus full of love for his family, his many friends, and for all peoples of the world who accept Christ as their Lord and Savior and pity for the rest. "Dark night and evening star, and one clear call for me. And let there be no moaning at the bar when I put out to sea."

at: TAYLOR Funeral Service CHAPEL.

Funeral Mass: Saturday, 12 Noon, February 24, 2007

at: St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Farmington, with Fr. James Dyer officiating.

Interment: at New Calvary Cemetery, Farmington.
