Barbara Ann Mund

Barbara Mund, 77, lately of Miami, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 23rd, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.

Barb was born in Picher, Oklahoma on Friday, June 29, 1945 to Vida and Benton Cover.  After graduating from Picher High School in 1963, she moved to St. Louis, Missouri where she met her husband, Orville Dale Mund.  She and Orville built a life on his family farm in Bonne Terre, where she lived the next 50 plus years.  In 2016, Barbara moved back to Oklahoma to spend her later years near her beloved family.  She returns to be buried next to her husband, Dale, at Marvin Chapel Cemetery in Bonne Terre.

Prior to her retirement in 2011, Barbara worked for 35 years for the Trimfoot Company in Farmington, Missouri.  While there, she made many lifelong friends that she cherished.  After retirement, Barb enjoyed visiting with friends, quilting, doting on her grandchildren and traveling to see her daughter in Half Moon Bay, California.

Barb is preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings Bobby Cover and Retha Magers, brothers-in-law Paul and Lehman Mund and sisters-in-law Shirley Wilkinson and Betty Mund.  She is survived by her son Gary Mund and his wife Janet, her daughter Lesley Karbaf and her husband John, and her grandchildren Lauren Mund, Matthew Mund, Ella Karbaf and Ava Karbaf.  She also leaves behind siblings Phyllis Cover (Miami, OK), Kathy Hopper and her husband Jerry  (Claremore, OK), Betty Meyers and her husband Marlon (Carthage, MO), Wanda Osburn and husband Berry (North Miami, OK), and Jimmy Cover and wife Carol (Ottawa, KS).  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A Graveside service will be held Saturday, September 3, 2022 at 2:00pm at Marvin Chapel Cemetery. Mary Spicer a lifelong friend will be speaking.
