Barbara McCarver, 90, of Park Hills, Missouri, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 21, 2026. Barbara was born July 25, 1935, and was the daughter of Omer and Rose Ragan, owners of Ragan’s Drug Stores of Bismarck, Leadwood, and Flat River (Park Hills).

Barbara was preceded in death by her infant sister and her parents. Barbara is survived by her son Michael (Susan) McCarver and grandson Patrick McCarver; and, by her son Shawn (Julie) McCarver, and granddaughter Dagny McCarver. Barbara was preceded in death by her step granddaughter Leslie Danieley Moore, and she is survived by her step granddaughter Stephanie Danieley Bauerle, D.O.

Barbara was a 1953 graduate of Leadwood High School where she was Valedictorian of her class. Barbara worked at the family pharmacy and enjoyed traveling. She had accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Barbara enjoyed talking to her friends and she “never met a stranger.”

Barbara and her family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff and her friends at Fresenius Kidney Care and Dialysis Center at Farmington, Missouri, and to Dr. Amin, Dr. Dear, and Dr. William Johnson. Barbara and her family would also like to extend sincere thanks to Lisa and Jose Gonzalez, who have been dear friends and caregivers for Barbara for many years. Finally, Barbara and her family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Americare Southbrook Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing and to Tessa and the staff of Heart and Soul Hospice.

As requested by Barbara, no public services will be held. A private memorial will be held for the family at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, https://www.kidney.org, or other charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are under the direction of C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home – Taylor Chapel in Farmington.
