Barbara Ruth Lucas

Barbara Ruth Lucas, age 76, of Farmington passed away November 17, 2023, at Mercy St. Louis Hospital. She was born September 10, 1947, in Annapolis to the late John Wesley and Helen Genice (Leach) Copeland. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Steven Lucas; son, Ralph Wesley Lucas; sister, Virgie Miller; 3 brothers, Clarence, Dean, and James Copeland; two sisters-in-law, Barb Copeland and Charlotte Copeland.

Barb was a great seamstress who made many theatre costumes and uncountable sets of curtains for her friends and family. She enjoyed passing the time by reading and playing solitaire. She was also an avid gardener and back-in-the-day she and Steve were quite the bowlers!

Barb is survived by her loving children, Nikki Lou Morgan of Houston, TX, Christopher William Lucas of Park Hills, and Adrianne Leigh Spiker and husband Eric of Farmington; ten grandchildren, Jeremy Bettis and wife Ashley, Leslie Nolan and husband John, Richard Lucas, Aaron Lucas, Kyle Harrison and wife Erika, Kayla Miller and husband Jared, Jessica Robinson, Jack Robinson, Emma Spiker, and Connor Spiker; twelve great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jerry Copeland, Kenny Copeland and wife Cindy, Mike Copeland and wife Deborah; brother-in-law, Ronnie Miller; sister-in-law Mary Copeland.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 21, 2023, from 4 pm until 8 pm at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home – Taylor Chapel in Farmington. Visitation will resume at 9 am on Wednesday, until the time of service at 10 am at the Taylor Chapel with Ralph Spiker officiating. Interment will follow at the Annapolis Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
