Bernard Jack "Ben" Schlager, age 76 of Farmington, Missouri, formerly of Cascade, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at the Presbyterian Manor in Farmington, Missouri. He was born on October 8,1942, in St. Louis, Missouri, a son of David Bernard and Theresa Marie (Redel) Schlager. On May 12, 1962, in St. Louis, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Carolyn Janet Gray, she preceded him in death on March 9, 2015. His parents, one brother David B. Schlager II, and one sister Katherine "Katie" Pierson also precede. He is survived by two sons & daughters-in-law – David B. & Nancy Schlager III of St. Charles, Missouri and John & Kimberly Schlager of Cascade; one brother Donald "Bo" Schlager of Shell Knob, Missouri; one sister Elizabeth "Liz" Beachum of Mesquite, Nevada; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Ben was a United States Navy Veteran. He worked as a truck driver, enjoyed traveling, and has been to all fifty states. He also enjoyed tending to his plants, reading, watching classic movies, cooking and automobile racing. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Farmington, Missouri. Interment will be at Jefferson Barracks in St. Louis, Missouri at a later date. Condolences may be posted on this website. In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
