Bernice Hargiss

Mrs. Bessie Bernice Hargiss passed away late Monday afternoon, September 9, 2013, at St. Joe Manor, in Bonne Terre, at the age of 91 years, 8 months & 18 days. Bernice was born December 31, 1921, in Herculaneum, and was the daughter of Thomas Gibson and Evelyn Amanda 'Williams' Gibson. Also preceding-in-death were: her husband, Glenwood Hargiss, Sr., (Nov. 13, 2009); a baby son; 2 sisters - Sadie Sales & Ethel Doss; a brother, John Gibson and 2 grandsons.

Bernice was a retired Food Service Worker from Farmington State Hospital #4, and a member of Leadington Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors Include : 6 children - Glen E. (& Elizabeth) Hargiss, of Park Hills; Harold (& Mary) Hargiss, of Hazelwood; Carolyn (& Charles) Ransom, of Arnold; Dianna (& Stephen) Gunter, of Jackson; Bill (& Barbara) Hargiss, of Farmington; Connie (& David) Baskin, of Farmington. 1 sister, Barbara Sherrill, of Farmington. 1 brother, Ralph Gibson, of Farmington; 13 Grandchildren, 20 Great-Grandchildren & 3 Great, Great-Grandchildren also survive.

Visitation : Thursday, 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Visitation resumes, Friday, 9 am @ church

Funeral : Friday, 10:00 a.m., September 13, 2013, with Pastor Cody Alley officiating.
