Betty Briley

            Betty Briley, 74, of Wortham, passed away July 4, 2018, at home surrounded by family. She was born May 27, 1944, in Brazil, MO to the late Clyde and Ruth (Beers) Brakefield. She was a member of the Church of God in Wortham, former board member of the St. Francois County District 2 Water in Frankclay, and actively held her beautician license. Betty loved helping the needy and enjoyed quilting.

            She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Shirley Jean Volner, and brother in-law, Edgar Green.

            Betty is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Harold James Briley; children, Tammy Mount, Terry Briley and wife Cindy; grandchildren, Jennelle (Matthew) Vickers, Kara (Nick) Salazar, McClure Briley, and Helena Briley; great-grandchildren, Audrey, Clara, and Corinne Vickers, Payton and Isabella Salazar; siblings, Cecil (Sue) Brakefield, Noel (Glenda) Brakefield, Raymond Brakefield, Judy Green, and Cindy Kean.

            Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Saturday, July 7, 2018, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The visitation will resume Sunday, July 8, 2018 at 10:00 AM until service at 2:00 PM with Chaplain Cody Alley officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Leadington.  Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
