Betty Johnson, 80, of O’Fallon, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026.
Born on January 25, 1946, in St. Louis, Missouri, Betty was the daughter of the late Wesley and Vivian (Helton) Vemmer. She lived a life centered on family, love, and quiet strength, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved grandson, Zachary Hardin; and her brother-in-law, Stephen Buntion.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: Dale (Lisa) Storey, Lisa (Mitch) Hardin, Scott Johnson, Carrie Hunt, and Brenden (Karen) Johnson. She also leaves behind nine cherished grandchildren: Andrea (Andrew) Lange, Michelle Storey, Tomi (Brian) Risk, Olivia Storey, Sarah Hardin, Alicia (Grant) Schindler, Nicholas (Morgan) Johnson, Brianne (Kyle) Krieter, and Kaitlyn (Eric) Wade.
Betty is also survived by her sisters, Karen (Curt) Drew and Janet Buntion, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will continue to honor her memory.
Betty found joy in the simple and creative moments of life. She had a special talent for baking and cake decorating, often sharing her creations with family and friends. She also enjoyed painting, expressing herself through art in her own unique way. In quieter moments, Betty could often be found watching her favorite ID true crime shows. She especially cherished the Christmas season, a time she filled with warmth, tradition, and love for those around her. Above all, Betty treasured time spent with her family—laughing, joking, and creating memories that will be held close forever.
Visitation will be held at Bryson Chapel in Pilot Knob on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Bart Goetz officiating. Burial will follow at Arcadia Valley Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations be made to the Humane Society of Missouri, 1201 Macklind Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63110.
Betty’s love, laughter, and gentle spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
