Betty Jean Jones, formerly of Ironton, Missouri, passed away May 23, 2022, in Farmington, Missouri, at the age of 89 years. She was born May 11, 1933, in Madora, Illinois, the daughter of the late John Thomas and Virgie Elnora (McCarty) Warren. Betty is survived by six children: Harold Jones (Sheila) of Yelm, Washington, Treva Cloin of Ironton, Missouri, Carla Turner of Pilot Knob, Missouri, Shirley Marler (Jim) of Arcadia, Missouri, John Jones of Ironton, Missouri, and Joseph Jones of Columbia, Missouri. Also surviving are two brothers: Lawrence Warren (Alice) of Ironton, Missouri, and Charles Warren (Vivian) of Elvins, Missouri, four sisters: Eileen Helt of Carson, Washington, Barbara Parsons of Havanna, Illinois, Jenny Hamilton of San Jose, Illinois, and Kim Rall (Winston) of Stevenson, Washington. Judy Warren her sister-in-law also survives. Twelve grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends are left to mourn. Betty was preceded in death by her brothers, Tom “Tinker” Warren and Lloyd Warren and two sisters, Peggy Poorbaugh and Carolyn Schwach. Also preceding her were her son-in-law, Jerry Turner, and four brothers-in-law, Ray Helt, Ray Schwach, Gary Parsons, and Kim Poorbaugh. Betty was a long-time member of Stouts Creek Baptist Church, and she worked for many years as a cook for the Arcadia Valley Schools. She enjoyed cooking throughout her life and even helped in the kitchen after she entered the nursing home. She loved gardening of all kinds and canned many things grown in her garden. Betty’s favorite hobbies included playing Scrabble and watching Cardinal Baseball. She loved babies – especially all her grandchildren and their children. Betty will be loved and missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 27, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Bryson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Trent Cloin officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Interment will be in Huff Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Stouts Creek Baptist Church or Huff Cemetery Association.
